Ben Balkcom is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in business and taxation from the University of New Mexico. He specializes in tax planning and preparation for individuals and small to mid-size businesses across a myriad of industries. Before coming to Balkcom & Company CPAs, P.A., Ben was a Tax Manager at one of the largest local CPA firms in New Mexico.

Ben is a third generation CPA who strives to bridge the gap between complex tax law and real-world situations that clients face every day. Certainly, one aspect of this involves compliance with tax laws and regulations. However, Ben’s goal is to use his expertise to serve as an independent advisor that can help his clients understand and make informed decisions in regards to their financial situations.

Philanthropically, Ben sits on various committees at the New Mexico Society of CPAs, including the Young CPA Committee and the Leadership Academy Committee. In addition, he sits on the board and is the Treasurer of The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. Ben has enjoyed participating in charitable events which have included the Doggie Dash & Dawdle (Animal Humane Society), Kickball for the Kids (Junior Achievement), and golf tournaments benefitting the Children’s Cancer Fund and Ronald McDonald House charities.

Ben loves to spend time with his family. On a normal weekend, he can be found walking in the Bosque or the open space with his wife, Darci, and his German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, Roxy.
